In order to get as much video footage as possible on the rioting incident in Outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy Thursday, sources said police are planning to contact video journalists so that they can identify who incited the mob that led to a killing of a man during the incident. On Thursday, police had registered a case of rioting and arson after some residents of Holambi Kalan Phase II attacked police and set a police motorbike on fire. The standoff between police and the public began after a three-year-old boy was run over by a school bus. Following the accident, the mob vandalised the bus. Police stepped in just as they were about to torch it. Police had claimed that Wasim might have killed by a bullet shot by some other persons as police personnel only fired in the air. Locals, however, claimed Wasim was shot by police. Sources said police have collected at least a dozen of CCTV footage from near the spot which are being scruitnised, said sources. At least 17 persons were detained from the spot Thursday but no arrests have been made so far.
