A mild tremor measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale jolted eastern Nepal around Saturday midnight, in an aftershock of the Gorkha quake that devastated the country nearly nine months ago. According to the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake was recorded at around 11:28 pm with its epicentre in Ramechhap district, 200 km east of Kathmandu. The location lies around 15 kilometres northwest of the district headquarters, Manthali.
