The horrifying footage shows a woman struggling a toddler in a kindergarten. The young girl screams for her mother. The incident took place in Yibin, a city in Sichuan Province, China, on May 13. She raises her arms above her head before landing a series of blows on the defenseless child. While other children are on lying down on their beds ready for a nap, the young woman can be seen jumping on top of the toddler. She then cruelly takes the girl’s stuffed animal toy before mercilessly beating the youngster with it. The woman in question was a student from the local university on a placement at the nursery.

She has since been dismissed, they added. The short clip has been widely condemned by social media users after the footage was widely shared. One said: ’How can a dismissal be the end of this? Not only should this wicked woman be held for criminal charges, the kindergarten has managerial responsibility as well.’ Another called for stronger regulations to be introduced at childcare facilities in the country. ’I hope the authorities will increase control over kindergartens. They should be punished like they do it with drug dealers,’ they said. ’Kindergartens are no longer safe. I strongly demand security cameras in kindergartens.’
