Mail Today team visits several crucial spots in the city to take stock of security arrangements ahead of Republic Day.The Delhi Police have turned Rajpath and other important buildings into a fortress ahead of Republic Day celebrations, but most of the cars entering the Capital remain unchecked despite cops installing barricades at all exit-entry points and sensitive locations.A PCR van of both Noida and Delhi Police were stationed but there was no one at the barricades to check the cars. Installation of barricades however caused queue of vehicles as traffic slowed down here. Cops present at the spot were busy managing the trucks ushering them towards the MCD booths for tax collection. The barricades on the middle of the road troubled commuters. “What is the use of installing a barricade if cops cannot even stand and check the cars? This barricade is only adding to traffic menace,” said Utkarsh Kumar, a Mayur Vihar resident.
