Leaders of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), who are currently on a visit to India at the invitation of the Indian government to discuss Nepal's political situation, are busy meeting Indian political leaders and government officials. The Madhesi leaders met former Indian ambassadors to Nepal on Monday morning. Former Indian ambassadors to Nepal Jayanta Prasad, Dev Mukherjee, Shiv Shanker Mukherjee, Shyam Saran, among others, were present in the meeting. Meanwhile, they are scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and security advisor Ajit Doval today, according to General Secretary of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, Sarbendra Nath Shukla said. On Sunday, the leaders met Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj at the Hyderabad House. They also held meeting with leader of the Nationalist Congress Karan Singh, DP Tripathi, chairman of the Janata Dal Sharad Yadav and general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Sitaram Yechury, among others, on Sunday. The UDMF leaders are scheduled to return home on Wednesday.
